Because We Can started when two friends asked themselves how they could do more in support of the fight against cancer. Having been both directly and indirectly affected by childhood cancer, we sought out a physical challenge so difficult it would inspire donation supporting this cause: Children’s Cancer Research.

The Marathon Des Sables has been hailed by both CNN, & most athletic reviews as being the most difficult footrace in the world, and one of the top ten all time most challenging physical tests globally. A 247km footrace across the Sahara desert in Morocco, survival style with the food and gear you need on your back for the duration of the race (equivalent to six marathons in 7 days). We took on this challenge because we can. We’re asking for support & donations because you can.

Because We Can is 100% volunteer run; so your donations directly fund cancer research, not our marketing plans! Our mission is to maintain the highest marginal utility of every dollar donated.
